Durkheim Symposium – call for abstracts.

Hi Thematic Groups Members,

We are pleased to report that we have been successful in securing a small grant from TASA for a symposium to be hosted by Flinders University on the 20th and 21st of September this year. The conveners of this event are Eduardo de la Fuente eduardo.delafuente@flinders.edu.au and Suzi Adams suzi.adams@flinders.edu.au (Flinders) . Those wishing to present at the two day event are required to submit an abstract to either Suzi or Eduardo by the 31st of July.

We are also pleased to advise that we can provide a small bursary (up to $500) for one postgraduate student to attend for flights and accommodation (depending on location and cost of air fares, etc). Postgraduate students who wish to apply for this are requested to send a short 250 word statement on why this event will contribute to their studies to Nick Osbaldiston (nick.osbaldiston@monash.edu) by the 31st of July. The Cultural Sociology Thematic Group conveners along with the two conveners of the symposium will then deliberate and vote on the winner accordingly. For further information, please contact Nick via email or on (03) 5122-6846.

If any others happen to be in Adelaide at the time and do not wish to present, please feel free to attend.

 Regards

The Australian Cultural Sociology Thematic Group.
